Without a doubt Bali has some of the best restaurants I have ever been to! From the service, to the quality of the food, ambience and decor, you cannot fault them. What is so incredible about these restaurants is that the staff who work there have never actually left Bali. They are simple, friendly people who have learnt the trade from foreigners and have made it pure paradise for their customers without actually knowing what restaurants outside of Bali are like. The standards there are so incredibly high! Higher than restaurants in the western world for sure – believe it or not!

1. Sisterfields (Seminyak)

Address: Jl. Kayu Cendana no. 7Seminyak 80361, Indonesia

Located in Seminyak, a fun beach town, this restaurant is quirky, cool and perfect for breakfast or brunch. They don’t take reservations so go early as there most likely will be a queue! With a range of unique sweet and savoury options on the menu, you will most definitely find something you’ll like at this Australian café. Infact, I decided to order something quite unusual, a fried egg with hummus and zucchini. Sounds like an odd combination right? I agree, and yet I loved it so much that now egg and hummus is my staple! Ever since my Bali trip I now eat egg and hummus daily for my breakfast. Sometimes experimenting is a good thing!

2. Batik (Seminyak)

Address: Jl. Kayu Aya (Oberoi)Seminyak 80361, Indonesia

A perfect spot for your midday meal, this is a casual restaurant yet very luxurious at the same time. With white marble merged with patterned tiles and minimal but present colours, this restaurant/bar instantly became one of our favourites. The drinks and food were great as was the presentation and service, just like everywhere else in Bali! Cannot emphasise enough how amazing the customer service was everywhere we went!

3. Bambu (Seminyak)

Address: Jl. Petitenget No. 198Seminyak 80361, Indonesia

The best for last, this restaurant was romantic, regal and absolutely remarkable. We visited during the monsoon season, so whilst making sure we weren’t drenched by the time we stepped inside was difficult, the rain just made the evening so much more romantic. As you enter the premises the path to the main area is split into flat steps creating the illusion that they are floating over water which have beautiful fish swimming inside. The main area of the restaurant is a marble square under a canopy with the water surrounding all four sides. The boundary wall was covered with lush green leaves and tropical plants. Between the boundary wall and the canopy above the main area there was no roof which meant as the rain poured down you could see it hit the water whilst you stayed dry and warm under the shelter. It was nature at it’s best. Absolutely magical. The food was outstanding and drinks were on point. What was even more astonishing was that the cost of this meal turned out to be approximately £35 per person (drinks, starters, mains and dessert), and whilst that is expensive, if this was in the UK or abroad, it would easily cost £50-60 per person. No restaurant gives you such a great location, ambience, 5* service and high quality food in such a great price. It was fine dining at it’s absolute best! It will not disappoint!
